So about 2 weeks ago I met Nathalie – the sales rep for Deborah Milano make up in Malta and I happened to mention this little blog we started – she asked if we have any beauty related posts and I showed her the website – she quickly offered to send me some Deborah Make up to try out – needless to say i was over the moon – I mean I love all things make up 🙂
Yesterday evening I took my mum to the Joseph Calleja 20th Anniversary concert and I decided to use all the lovely products Deborah Milano so kindly gave me 🙂 Now yesterday was a huge test – 39 degrees celsius – extremely high humidity and make up don’t usually go well but I must say i was very pleasantly surprised.
I used the dress me perfect foundation number 003 sand colour. The foundation is slightly runny, and blended very nicely with my skin it gave this really bright feeling – in fact I ran into a few friends who commented on what a nice glow I had 🙂 . I found it to have a matte finish with slight dewiness because it looks like a very natural foundation. It was perfect for a humid hot summer evening as it feels light and does not cake at all 🙂 So all in all I loved this foundation.
Now onto the blusher … Don’t be fooled by the cheap-looking plastic packaging. This blush is a real gem. The mauvy pink shade here, 06, is one of those that looks much better applied than it does in the container. I think it looks really natural on my complexion, and it blends effortlessly and lasts a pretty long time for a powder blush.
Let’s move on to the eyeliner – Personally I usually prefer liquid eyeliners – had not used a pencil form of eyeliner in a while- this was a 2 in 1 gel/ Kajal liner in intense black. I swiped it 2-3 times which created a super dramatic and a catchy look. It created an instant pop in my eyes. The texture is creamy and the finish is perfect like a gel liner should feel. It lasted all evening even though I was sweating quite profusely- and its available in different colours – i love coloured eye liners will definitely be trying the blue one next.
Next up is the Mascara – We women are always on the look out for the perfect mascara and sometimes its not easy to find the perfect one. The 24 hr absolute volume mascara by Deborah is a winner in my eyes. The packaging is very elegant and simple, kind of hourglass shape, it feels very comfortable to handle. It feels strong and sturdy, not a cheap plastic that breaks the first time it falls.
My lashes are short and very straight, so I am always on the lookout for new products that would actually do what they promise, maybe have some volume, or some lenght, or just really be black and make my eyelashes visible. It worked for me and made me look like I have some lashes 😛 It gave me a bit of length, and definition, thanks to the really black pigmentation, and it also gives volume. All in all, I can see the difference in the mirror from my natural eyelashes to the ones with mascara and I like it. I would say it Defines, makes them pop, but not too much. Would work for a daily look or special occasions. After you scrape off the excess product from the wand, the formula is not too heavy and not too dry. And most importantly it didn’t make me look like a panda after a couple of hours. So I must say I absolutely loved this Mascara 🙂
And Finally the winner of the evening – the liquid lipstick. The lipstick comes in a transparent lipgloss like packaging with an applicator. It does have a slightly mousse-like consistency in the beginning but once it sets, it dries to a ultra matte finish. And it sets quickly. I have also noticed that once it dries, the shades goes one touch deeper. I don’t have dry lips in general and didn’t find it to be drying. I had a few drinks throughout the concert and the lipstick looked amazing all evening – I got home around 1.30 am and It still looked like I had just applied it 🙂
So if you are on the look out for an inexpensive but good quality make up i truly recommend you try Deborah Milano 🙂 I really loved them and will be using them more often.
